Tuticorin Port sets a new record

Tuticorin Port is glad to inform that the Port created a new record in cargo handling on 5.1.2007 by unloading 19,785 Metric Tonnes of Copper Concentrate in bulk at VOC Berth No.IV from the vessel mv."TURICUM" in a single day. The previous record discharge of Copper Concentrate was 19,012 Metric Tonnes on 14.07.2005 from the vessel mv."UBC TAPICO". The new record was created by complementing the discharge by using Port TRF Grab Cranes.

The Steamer Agent of the vessel is M/s.Pearl Shipping Agency, Tuticorin and the Stevedore are M/s.Villavarayar & Son, Tuticorin. The cargo is meant for M/s.Sterlite Industries India Ltd., Tuticorin.
