Faults at thermal plants affect power generation in TN

Power generation has come down by 1,000 MW in Tamil Nadu due to the technical faults at the thermal plants at Neyveli, Tuticorin and North Chennai, Tamil Nadu Electricity minister Arcot N Veerasamy has said.

Two units in Neyveli plant, one in Tuticorin and another in North Chennai were under repair, affecting power generation to the tune of 1,000 MW, he told reporters.

Round-the-clock repair works were going on and in another three days power distribution would be streamlined, he said.
