TWAD Employees General body meeting held in Tuticorin

The State general body meeting of Central Organisation of Tamil Nadu Water and Drainage Board Employees was held here on 13th October.

The meeting resolved to carry out a signature campaign against the move to privatise water supply schemes. We would submit a memorandum signed by 10 lakh people to the government, V. Kumar, State Assistant General Secretary, Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), said. The Government must fill about 7,000 vacancies in the TWAD Board. Services of 4,564 contract labourers deployed must be confirmed.

Bonus must be raised from 8.3 per cent last year to 25 per cent.
