Rs 500 crore SSN Institutions in Tuticorin
The Chennai-based SSN (Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar) Institutions will invest Rs 500 crore on building educational campuses in Tuticorin.
The campus at Tuticorin costing Rs 500 crore is proposed by academic year 2009. "It will come up on 1,000 acres of land that they've planned to acquire. The center would focus on providing under graduate and graduate courses in science, maths, physics, economics and law.
SSN Educational and Charitable Trust, which controls the institution, was founded by Mr Shiv Nadar (Founder of the HCL group and Chairman of HCL Technologies).All the proposed projects would be financed by SSN Trust.
The trust had applied for Deemed University status in June 2006 and expects to get it by academic year 2007.
