Advani gets warm welcome in Tuticorin

The former Deputy Prime Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Lal Krishna Advani, was accorded a warm reception by the party cadres at the Tuticorin airport at Vagaikulam on 18th September.

He was at the airport on a transit enroute to Tirunelveli. The senior leaders of the party’s State unit, Pon. Radhakrishnan (State vice-president), M. R. Kanagaraj (State observer), V. Rengarajan (District president) and S. Thirunavukarasar (ex-MP) garlanded Mr. Advani and honoured him with a shawl. The entire reception was held amidst tight police security owing to threat perceptions.

The Inspector General of Police, Sanjiv Kumar, Deputy Inspector Generals of Police, P. Kannapan and K.C. Mahali, and the Superintendent of Police, Deepak Motibhai Damor, supervised the security. Mr. Advani proceeded to Tirunelveli by car for attending a rally.
