Anti-Tobacco Rally in Tuticorin

National Cadet Corps officers and cadets took out a rally in the city on 9th September, to create awareness among the public on the ill effects of using tobacco for smoking and chewing.

M. Kasturi Thangam, chairperson, Tuticorin municipality, flagged off the rally in front of the Tamil Nadu Maritime Academy on Beach Road.

F. Benny Morais, troop commander, NCC (Naval unit), and senior NCC officers, Lieutenant Kumaraswamy, Sub-Lieutenant Jessie, Second Officer Nirmala and Third Officer, Santinal, were present.

The NCC cadets of V.O. Chidambaram College, St. Mary’s College for Women, St. Lasalle Boys Higher Secondary School, Holy Cross Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, and St.Joseph’s Girls Higher Secondary School, constituted the rally.
